Site Updates, Changes, & Free Advertising

News

Due to some outside interference (a.k.a., “life”) the site has been on hold for the last week or two. Thankfully that’s all but done with now, and we should be moving forward with new and updated content once again.

Along with the content we will be launching a new site. Once launched this new site will begin hosting all non-Usenet/Torrent related content. Essentially it will house non-grey area guides for GNU/Linux with a focus on multimedia and gaming.

This change is mainly driven by the fact that we have been unable to secure a revenue source (advertising) for the site due to the focus of the guides. All content on the new site will be linked to from this site but the reverse will not be true.

We are also considering some sort of integrated forum system that would replace the comments and be shared between the two sites, but this is still under consideration due to technical and practical considerations.

Free Advertising

Due to the site’s inability to attract commercial advertising we are going to, at least for now, offer free advertising to essentially any FOSS projects or sites (subject to our approval).

If you are interested in pursuing this please submit your project’s or site’s information via the Contact form under Site Info. Please include any banners or buttons you would like us to use.
